Meet the Author
Harvard Business School Professor Regina Herzlinger, widely known as the “Godmother of Consumer-Driven Health Care,” wrote Innovating in Healthcare: Creating Breakthrough Services, Products, and Business Models” from the lessons she learned in her astounding 50 year academic and business career.
A highly successful teacher and entrepreneurs of medical devices that have saved hundreds of thousands of lives, Professor Herzlinger has served as a board member of many large public healthcare firms and a number of private healthcare startups. Professor Herzlinger has also advised the U.S. Congress and the White House on health care policy and served on the Scientific Advisory Group of the Secretary of the U.S. Air Force. She has authored several best-selling health care books including “Market-Driven Health Care: Who Wins, Who Loses in the Transformation of America's Largest Service Industry”. Professor Herzlinger contributes regularly to media as diverse as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and The Huffington Post.
ProfessorHerzlinger has twice received the American College of Healthcare Executives James A. Hamilton Book of the Year Award and has also won the Healthcare Financial Management Association Board of Directors Award. She is an honorary fellow of the American College of Physician Executives and has been listed numerous times as one of Modern Healthcare's “100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare.”

The Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) is a global network of colleges, universities, faculty, individuals and organizations dedicated to the improvement of healthcare delivery through excellence in healthcare management and policy education.
